things slowly curve out of sight
until they are gone.
only the curve remains.
– The Curve of Forgotten Things by Richard Brautigan
The phrase “the curve of forgotten things” has gotten some attention in the fashion industry of late. It caught my ear because it’s perilously close to the title of my dream novel. I wondered who this Richard Brautigan was and discovered that he’s kindof a genius. His short, spare, but deadly poems cut right to the heart. Look for more of them to be featured on this blog.
