A New Day

A New Day

I’ve never been one for January 1st resolutions. I make resolves on a pretty much daily basis. I achieve and fail every day.

But, as it so happens, January 1 is the start of a new phase of my life in that I’ve reduced my work hours from 40 to 28. Those of you who know me, know the purpose of this and what I plan to do with the extra 12 hours I’ve freed up. But making that adjustment has a deeper, psychological effect: no longer am I a worker drone. I am a free agent! I am a idealistic individual who lives their passion!

So since I’m practically forced to view January 1 as a momentous point in my life, let’s have a go at some resolutions. I have some serious l.i.f.e. goals but let’s talk about the non-serious ones, shall we?

  • more reading (which has been previously alluded to)
  • more actual writing
  • more painting/creating
  • more brunches
  • more of my photos on this blog (see above)
  • less yellow filter (see above)
  • more photographic reality / or maybe less

You should start to see evidence of my progress on these goals on this blog in the coming weeks/months. Until then, let me throw in a mission statement for good measure:

i don’t want to set the world on fire, I just want to be a better version of myself.
