As If It Were Already Here

Over the weekend, we were driving into Boston and suddenly came out of a tunnel and there it was… an awe-inspiring orange spider web running between buildings.

This installation floating over the Rose Kennedy Greenway is by Janet Echelman and is named As If It Were Already Here which is a perfectly twee Miranda July-esque name of which I entire approve.

These photos are only the portion of the sculpture which I could see as we drove by (we were on a tight timetable). You can see more photos here including a time lapse video of the sculpture being installed.

From our perspective that day, it seemed that the primary color was orange but turning one way or another slowly reveled other colors, like giant, opalescent soap bubbles.
