Paul Bunyan and his loyal friend, Babe the Blue Ox are woven through the mythology of the Midwest. Every school child is taught that it was Paul and Babe who cleared the mighty forests, built the mountains through their rough-housing, and created the Great Lakes with their footprints. I’ve watched this Disney movie in the Taquamenon Area Schools grand theater and sung “Good Night Paul Bunyan” with my classmates.
I’ve eaten a Paul Bunyan burger at the Paul Bunyan Inn and hung on Babe’s ear. Hello, my name is Sarah and I am from the Midwest.
