READING: I was on quite a reading tear for a while there. I read Crooked Heart by Lissa Evans and Kitchens of the Great Midwest by J. Ryan Stradal which were entertaining. Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walker was amazing, one of those books that just sticks with you. I want to read more by him!
I finally signed up for Overdrive and listened to Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris. But I seem to have hit a wall with Overdrive because all of the books on my wish list have 6-10 people ahead of me. And so I wait…
LISTENING TO: The new season of Serial. I didn’t think I was ready to get back into a serialized who-done-it but here I am, listening to stories of a US prisoner of war in Afghanistan.
WATCHING: I always have to have a series going so, after finishing Gilmore Girls, it’s on to The West Wing! I also enjoyed the one brief season of The Great British Baking Show and will be on the look out for more of that.
MAKING: I’ve been obsessed with making my own granola lately! We’ve been eating it on yogurt with berries. This is a good recipe.
DISCOVERING: Well, I don’t quite know what to call them but this article does a good job of explaining: Novelists Are Working Hard To Create Apps That Are Deliberately User-Unfriendly. I downloaded The Silent History and thoroughly enjoyed the journey which was slightly more than just reading a book. If I had read it at the time of release, it would have been even more interactive but, as it was, it was still a fun ride!
PURCHASING: I recently purchased a faux leather skirt from Forever 21 which I’m enjoying. It reminds me of this dress I was so coveting and makes me think that I’m on my way to achieving my fall/winter style goals.
ANTICIPATING: A new website design?… maybe? I found something I really like which would give me a good portfolio layout as well as slightly bigger blog images (750px as opposed to the current 550px). Stay tuned!
Also, the photo above was taken during a walk in Marblehead last week. The pond was frozen several inches thick but was clear to the bottom. Beautiful!
