1. This photo is of an arid landscape that I've been craving lately.⁠
⁠
2. The text is something I've been mediating on a lot. About how if you focus on the journey or the process, you are better equipped to take on long term goals or projects because you're not facing months/years of misery with a payoff at the end; you're making *each day* rewarding and enjoyable.⁠
⁠
It's the way I want to be. And I think that as I've slowed down during this pandemic, made my world smaller and quieter, I've been able to get closer to achieving that state of mind.⁠

Here's to more of that in 2021!

When I saw Jacqui Kenny's photography, it really resonated with me. But when I realized that these photos were screenshots from Google Street View, I was blown away!⁠

Agoraphobia and anxiety limit Jacqui's ability to travel, so she found another way to see the world.⁠
⁠
She began clicking through Google Maps to navigate to faraway countries like Mongolia, Senegal, and Chile. ⁠
⁠
"I found remote towns and dusty landscapes, vibrant architectural gems, and anonymous people, all frozen in time. I was intrigued by the strange and expansive parallel universe of Street View, and took screen shots to capture and preserve its hidden, magical realms."⁠

I must confess that I've tried to look through Google to find these gems and it is not easy! So I'll leave that to the expert: @streetview.portraits

Sometimes I see resistance to things being “designed” and I get it. It’s not cool to look like you tried to hard with your presentation or product or document. But the truth is, everything is designed whether intentionally or not. Might as well try to make it good design.
